Monica F Hewitt florists, one of the longest-established florists in Sheffield, is holding a week of celebrations to mark 40 years of offering fresh flowers and plants to people in south Yorkshire and beyond.
The flower retailer, situated on Middlewood Road on the edge of Hillsborough Park, remains a family run business, with Monica and her daughter Helen Murray at the helm.
The team also includes senior florist Aunty Annie who has trained many of Sheffields most qualified florists and floristry lecturers over the past 35 years.
Helen said: "We would like to invite readers, friends and customers to join us for celebratory cupcakes and the chance to see our beautiful selection of flowers and plants . We will also be displaying our own memorabilia from the last 40 years of trading."
She added: "The week will be a double celebration for us because, on the 8th of September, our most recent member of staff and gifted apprentice, April Bell, 17, is at the finals of the UK Retail Apprentice of the Year awards in London where she is one of three nominees."
"We would like to wish her the very best and hope she can bring this award home."
