Claudette Roberts, aged 38, mother of two has been awarded a City and Guilds Level Four Higher Diploma in Floristry .

Florists have to attain set standards and the course is very difficult.

Claudette is very talented with flowers and has never really sought to do anything other than become a florist .

She began her working life at Fleur de Lys in Crown Street, Hebden Bridge, when she as school and was offered a full-time job there.

Ten years ago the shop came up for sale. So she took a risk and bought it. She states that it was the best decision of her life.

She has made some impressive creations, including a wedding cake as well as a bra, both made totally from flowers.

Claudette states that she likes to use whatever is in season, which nowadays days is vintage with a modern edge, and simple and classy as opposed to loud, big and fussy.
