Darlington Florist Finds Frogs in Delivery

Tue, 04 Oct 2011

Employees of a Darlington florist were left shock after four frogs jumped out of a delivery box.

Flowers by Nattrass members of staff were undertaking their normal task of unpacking their flower delivery when the "little frogs hopped out".

The frogs are Amazonian Milk frogs and are thought to have travelled from Columbia to the shop via their Dutch supplier.

You could hear a lot of screaming after this encounter and undoubtedly the frogs must have been alarmed too.

The family florist, who has been operational for half a century, has never found anything so unusual amongst its flower deliveries before.

At first the staff was alarmed that the exotic animals could have been poisonous, therefore, the owner contacted her husband to help shop staff capture the frogs with a vase.

In future, Mrs Bennett said they would be extra careful when opening deliveries.
