A top florist has won a place at the Chelsea Flower Show .
Nicola Handy, a top florist, who finished her Level 3 in floristry at Bicton College in June, states she is "extremely pleased" with winning.
This was the first competition she had entered. Therefore, she was even more surprised with the news.
She had joined the competition just to see how she fared, without any intention or hope of winning.
She is really looking for forward to May 2012.
Nicola entered the RHS Chelsea Florist of the Year Competition 2012 in the regional qualifying heats with many other florists .
She had to design a centre table piece for a formal dinner for UK 2012 Olympics competitors.
She designed the famous discus throwing statue with wire mesh, galvanised steel and many wonderful flowers; the discus was red, and the white and blue flowers around the base represent the UK competitors.
