A florist’s shop in Henlow, Befordshire, has become the latest flower retailer to be forced under by the recession.
Flowers By Design is set to end trading next week due to a major slump in business, which has been attributed to a reduction in customers’ disposable income.
The high street store was opened by Ann Harvey six years ago. The floral expert previously had a store on the Lower Stondon business park.
She said: "The lease has come to an end and there is the recession so business has dropped. I am trying to sell off stock so our Christmas items are 75 per cent off and other goods are 50 per cent off."
She added that customers can still order flowers from her collection by contacting her directly on 01462 811341 or 07713 147433.
