A flower retail shop in the small village of Walkern, Hertfordshire, has celebrated its first year of business.
To celebrate a year of offering beautiful fresh flowers and gifts to locals, The Posy Palace held a raffle in aid of Keech Hospice on Saturday (October 16) and will soon launch its new Flower School workshops.
Posy Palace Owner Sara Oliver said: "We have been overwhelmed by the support we have had since opening, particularly from the local community."
The 43-year-old entered the floristry industry after deciding to abandon her career in international sales following the birth her twin daughters.
She studied floristry at Oaklands College in St Albans, where she was awarded student of the year before graduating and working for a number of florists .
Sara then decided to open her own business in Walkern and quickly turned the villages former butchers shop into The Posy Palace.
She said: "The shop has surpassed all my expectations and Im thrilled its all going so well. I did several weddings this year and am already getting bookings for next year."
