Sales Of Christmas Flowers Set To Soar At Leading Online Florist

Wed, 17 Nov 2010

Serenata Flowers, one of the UK’s leading online florists, has revealed that it expects to see a large increase in Christmas flower sales this year.

The online flower store said it has experienced a significant rise in the number of early Christmas orders, with flowers appearing to be on many people’s Christmas shopping lists.

It added that the increase in pre-December demand suggests consumers have learned from the recession and are planning ahead.

Peter Ahl, Managing Director of Serenata Flowers, said: "We expect orders for Christmas Flowers by Post to increase another 30 per cent over last year."

"The numbers suggest we'll have a better Christmas across the board than we had the last few years. More consumers are preplanning their gifts and we believe this is a direct result of the recession - people are budgeting, saving and organising their money, rather than impulse shopping ."

According to Serenata, more than half a million Christmas flowers and bouquets are expected be sold by UK retailers in the run-up to Christmas this year, and over half of all Xmas flower deliveries will be ordered online.
