Diana Kaye, a flower retailer based in the North-East of England, has been named New Covent Garden Market Retail Florist of the Year at Re:fresh Awards ceremony 2010.
The florist, which is part of the Interflora network, was one of sixteen award winners chosen by an independent panel of judges at the event, which was held last Thursday (May 13) at the InterContinental Hotel in London’s Park Lane .
Diana Kaye was has two branches, one in the cobbled market town of Yarm and one in Newcastle, which focus on providing an innovative range of flowers and plants at an affordable price. Flowers arrive direct from Holland twice a week.
The Yarm store has a number of corporate clients including BMW, Middlesborough Football Club and The Co-operative Funeralcare, while the Newcastle store is situated in the entrance of the city’s flagship Fenwicks department store .
Both outlets cater for every occasion including birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, funerals, corporate events .
Kaye posted a 40 per cent rise in total turnover for the last financial year following a complete revamp of her florist business. She now plans to double turnover to around £750,000 a year by 2015.
