eFlorist Weathers Volcanic Ash Storm On Flower Trade

Tue, 15 Jun 2010

eFlorist, one of the biggest and most successful flower retail firms in the UK, has revealed that business has not been affected too much by the volcanic ash cloud.

The eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland in April caused widescale restrictions of flights across Europe, which brought trade across the continent to a standstill.

The UK was one of the countries most affected as many mainstream florists in Britain import their flowers and other related accessories in bulk from various European countries.

However, eFlorist said that they have not felt the impact as much due to their community ethos of using fresh flowers which are hand-prepared and delivered by a local neighbourhood florist .

"We're still sending flowers regardless, and put that down to our strong focus on local communities," said Alistair Weatherill of eFlorist .

"All of our flowers are fresh and expertly hand-prepared to an incredible standard by your local florist, and can be delivered on the same day for that added freshness."

"We can offer flowers for every occasion and hope people recognise our drive to support local businesses in these tough economic times."

eFlorist has over a thousand local member florists signed up to their online delivery scheme. To find out more about the company and the range of flowers they offer, visit eflorist.co.uk or phone 0800 0830 930.
