Business Blooming At The Flower Bank

A Carlisle-based flower wholesaler has reported a surge in business following a major re-branding of the company.

The Flower Bank, which used to be known as Fearon Flowers Wholesale, saw a 75 per cent increase in revenue during the second half of 2009, compared to the same six-month period the previous year.

Shop owner Helen Wilson bought Fearon Flowers Wholesale in the summer of 2008 but decided to re-brand the business as The Flower Bank . The new company launched last July at new premises on her father’s Bankdale Farm in north-east Cumbria.

Helen revealed that since the re-branding, the business has seen customer numbers leap by 45 per cent, while sales of non-flower products have also soared.

She said: "Our first half-year trading as The Flower Bank has been really encouraging and I’d like to thank all our customers for their ongoing support."

"I’ve got a fantastic team behind me and everyone pitches in, which has been really necessary during the recent cold weather."

The Flower Bank delivers fresh flowers, plants and sundries to florists throughout the North of England and Scotland.

"In line with the company’s new image, I’ve been increasing the number of our suppliers over the last few months to give our customers more choice," Helen added.

"By travelling to trade fairs and different European flower markets, I’ve also been able to improve the diversity and quality of supplies."

"Over the last few months, we have been extending our geographical range whilst continuing to offer a first-class service to regular customers."
