A recent Lancashire flower show proved a great success, managing to attract a record number of entries.
The Goosnargh Flower, Produce and Craft Show attracted fewer flower entries than last years event due to the poor summer weather, but total entries reached a record-breaking 750.
More than 500 entries were entered into the open section, with Tom Bamber winning the flowers section and Sheila Warburton taking the best house plant .
Other winners included Derek Leyland and Bernard Bamber in the handicraft and photograph sections respectively, while Margaret Jackson was judged to have the best confectionery and Millie Butcher the best tomatoes .
Around 250 entries were also entered for the children's section with judges handing out prizes to Harvey Price, Olivia Timbrell, Poppy Haresnape, Daniel Marshall and Joseph Marshal.
Jim Standring, who helped organise the 2009 event, said: "We were running out of tables to place the displays on it was very successful."
