A florist from Ilminster, Somerset, is celebrating after being named top practical student in her college class.
Jacalyn Dobson, who works at Cottage Flowers, was awarded the title of best practical student in the Level Two Floristry class at Cannington College, near the town of Bridgwater.
She said: "I’m lucky working here because it’s quite a modern florist shop and you get to be really adventurous with lots of stuff straight from Holland ."
Earlier this year Jacalyn represented Britain in the Europa Cup held in the Czech Republic, and hopes to take part in the competition again in the near future.
Ilminster-based Cottage Flowers specialises in creating wedding flowers and bouquets . The store is run by florist Angie Collins, who has been designing wedding flowers for over 20 years.
As well as managing the popular flower shop, she also teaches floristry at Somerset's top colleges and runs a number of informative and creative workshops.
