Clematis Season In Bloom At Sudeley

Visitors to Sudeley Castle, Gloucestershire, are being treated to the site of bright clematis running riot throughout the castle’s gardens .

The clematis season – one of the highlights of Sudeley Castle’s gardening calendar – is currently in full bloom in the grounds of the historic building at Winchcombe.

Wild clematis has weaved around ancient Tithe Barn ruins, while oriental clematis continues to blossom in the East Garden .

The award-winning gardens recently attracted more than 2,200 people for the Sudeley Rose Week .

Visitors were given tours by Sudeley’s gardeners who talked about the castle’s history and the gardens’ development.

Sudeley’s gardens were recently voted one of the top five gardens to visit in the South West by Gardeners’ World magazine readers and users of the gardenersworld.com website.
