Students from Reaseheath College in Nantwich, Cheshire, are celebrating after claiming one of the top prizes at the recent RHS Tatton Park Flower Show .
Competing in the national finals of the Society of Floristry College of the Year, the students had to create six items that promoted the summer collection of a world class fashion designer.
The team, which selected designer Jean Paul Gaultier as their theme, eventually finished as runners-up in the competition, missing out on first place by just two marks.
However, crowds at the prestigious show were so impressed with the floral items that the young florists walked away with the British Florist Association s Public Award.
Presenting the prizes, David Martin, vice president of the Society of Floristry, said: "The students have done an incredible job, representing both their colleges and their industry to world class level."
Sue Poole, floristry lecturer at Reaseheath College, added: "We are absolutely ecstatic at the results. The students have been outstanding."
As part of the national finals, students and staff also took part in a catwalk display modelling fashion made from flowers .
