Flowers Direct Add Wedding Flowers To Online Collection

Tue, 11 Aug 2009

Global flower delivery company Flowers Direct has launched a new Wedding Flowers collection in response to growing consumer demand and a change in wedding trends.

The new range of flowers has been created in partnership with Confetti, the UK’s largest online wedding shop and both companies hope it will tap into a much-ignored niche market.

Online wedding flowers have become a huge market in the US, according to Flowers Direct, while in the UK ‘wedding flowers’ is the second most popular search term behind ‘flowers’.

Michael Duffy, the company’s marketing director, said: "Over the past year our Customer Service department has seen a surge in enquiries asking us why it is that we don't offer wedding flowers ."

"Changes in the way people are getting married, together with the effects of the recession, have combined to create a demand for cost-effective, hassle-free wedding flowers available online."

"We'd be daft not to respond to this opportunity, serving customers who aren't necessarily having a blow-the- budget wedding, but who want something simpler and more economical."

He added: "With over 10 years experience and 1 million satisfied customers it's safe to say we know a thing or two about flowers . We also know that every bride deserves the very best on their big day."

Flowers Direct, based in North West England, personally deliver flowers six days a week throughout Britain and globally, via their large network of UK florists . The company also operates an extensive same day delivery service that enables flowers to be delivered on the same day that they are ordered.
