Southport Flower Show To Celebrate Liverpool's Culture Status

Southport’s annual international Flower Show is set to take place again next month.

This year’s event, the 79th in the show’s history, will celebrate Liverpool’s status as European Capital of Culture 2008 and be themed around the heritage, architecture, culture and artists of the town.

Up to 80,000 visitors are expected to attend the four-day festival, which is taking place in Victoria Park from August 21 to August 24.

As well as a range of flower displays and shows, visitors will be able to see special guest appearances from botanist David Bellamy and North West tonight reporter Paul Crone.
