Covent Garden Set For Spring Renaissance

London’s Covent Garden Market is to undergo a dramatic spring transformation with the upcoming launch of the 2008 Spring Renaissance.

From the 23rd of April the historic site will become the ultimate spring destination for tourists and flower enthusiasts, with a host of spring celebrations and events set to take place at the iconic cobble-stoned Piazza.

Organisers said have a modern incarnation of the world renowned Flower Market is being planned, while Covent Garden will see the installation of a giant flower that will evolve into a stunning piece of living artwork.

Londoners and tourists will also be treated to the UK’s first pop-up Urban Gardening Boutique curated by London’s own City Gardener Matt James, a genuine working mini allotment complete with home grown fruit and vegetables, demonstrations, talks and live plant ‘surgeries’ from a host of gardening and environmental experts.

The Spring Renaissance event will run from 23rd April to 18th May 2008.
