Herefords Festival of the Flowers, which took place in the citys cathedral, proved a great success with over 14,000 people visiting for a look at the unique floral scheme on show .
People from all over the UK came to the event, which was the first of its kind since 1999, and voted it an outstanding success.
Although similar flower festivals are held in cathedrals across Britain, the Festival of the Flowers in Hereford is now widely regarded as the one to beat.
The festival, organized by Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust, took two and half years to come together and was so successful that another one should take place in the next few years.
This years festival theme was From Darkness to Light, while experts from the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies in the three counties and South Wales, were in charge of the floral scheme .
Perpetual Trust secretary, Glyn Morgan, said they had received many messages from visitors saying how much they had enjoyed the occasion and they would definitely be visiting Hereford again.
Mr Morgan, along with the Dean of Hereford, the Very Rev Michael Tavinor, stated that the festivals success was down to a huge team effort, which involved around 600 supporters giving a helping hand.
Praise was also given to many in the wider community for their support and co-operation, along with particular thanks to the local police force who helped visitors from outside the area travel in and out of the city .
