Garden Centre Up For Two Awards At National Garden Event

A garden centre near Burnham-on-sea, Somerset, has been named as a finalist in two categories for the 2007 National Garden Retail Awards .

Sanders Garden World, which was bought by Wyevale Garden Centres last month, has twice been awarded the title of UK Garden Centre of the Year – in 2003 and 2006 - at the awards ceremony .

The centre now has its sights set on scooping the top prize for ‘Best Pet and Aquatic Department’ and ‘Environmental Best Practice’ at the garden retail event held in London next month.

"We’re delighted we’ve been picked as finalists in these two categories," explained proud managing director, Peter Burks.

"We are particularly proud of both our internal and customer-driven environmental programmes, which include a wide range of recycling initiatives. We are keen to do well in this section," he added.
