A young florist from Liverpool has been crowned Young Florist of the Year at the British Florist Association awards .
Nineteen-year-old Joe Massiewas, who was the youngest florist in the event, was chosen as one of seven semi-finalists from over 120 entrants before coming out on top of the award ceremony which took place last week.
Joe will now be given the chance to showcase his skills to the rest of Europe by representing Britain in next summers European florist awards, which will be taking place in Belgium .
Joes remarkable journey started just three years ago, working at local florists as a Saturday job, before moving to Fishlocks florists in Liverpool city centre and becoming manager of the store .
Joe now specialises in wedding designs at the store and delivers a unique service to Fishlocks valued customers.
Joe said: "I was absolutely delighted to compete with some of the countrys most prestigious industry workers and come out winning the award."
"I think my success is most definitely thanks to the support and guidance from all the team at Fishlocks who have always encouraged individuality in my designs ."
The competition, which is held every two years, involved designing four unique displays a bridal piece, a table centrepiece, a surprise package and a free expression piece under the theme Entry to Europe .
