It was announced yesterday that the FTD Group, a leading floral producer announced that their acquisition of Interflora Holdings Ltd in the UK had been completed.
The buy-out of was initially announced on 7 July 2006, for the purchase price of £66 million ($122 million).
The globally recognised brand uses the same mercury man logo as FTD. Interflora offers a wide range of products and services to its 1,800 member florists, and markets flowers to consumers directly via the telephone and the internet .
The company was founded in 1923 as an unincorporated association. Interflora was incorporated in February 2005 and was then run as a for-profit organisation.
Michael Soenen, Chief Executive Officer of FTD said, "We are pleased to have Interflora as part of the FTD family and are excited about working with the management team to expand our platform and establish ourselves in the European marketplace."
